SimplyFresco earns 2 awards at the 2008 Scovie Awards international competition – November 2007
 

 San Antonio, Texas – Results of the 2008 Scovie Awards, which recognizes top fiery food products from around the globe are in and SimplyFresco was selected as a winner in one of the world’s most competitive gourmet food competitions.   SimplyFresco, which manufactures Cocina Fresca Salsa  has received two 2008 Scovie Awards.  In the industry’s most rigorous blind tastings, a panel of the country’s top culinary experts sampled hundreds of the world’s most lauded gourmet foods, and the top scoring products each won a coveted Scovie banner.  Over 700 products from around the world competed for top honors.  SimplyFresco won a formulation award and an award for its innovative pouch packaging and design. 

  SimplyFresco was able to receive its award just before celebrating its first year in production.  What seemed so far away a year ago has become a dream come true.  The company decided to send some products to the competition to see if they were on the “right track”.  Needless to say, they are heading in the right direction.  SimplyFresco‘s  line of refrigerated, preservative-free, all-natural salsas are a technology breakthrough that offers great taste (of course!) and long lasting freshness.  “We are thrilled,” said the management. “It is one thing to have your family, friends and consumers tell you that your sauces are among the best they have ever tasted. It is an unbelievable validation when flavors that originated in our kitchen earn recognition in a blind judging at the international level.” The awards are a clear validation of the experience and quality that SimplyFresco brings to the marketplace.
SimplyFresco receives Gold Certification from Silliker Audit – August 2007
  San Antonio, Texas – SimplyFresco announces that they have received the Gold Certificate of Recognition from Silliker, Inc, Auditing Services, the leading international network of accredited food testing and consulting laboratories.  SimplyFresco received the Gold Certificate of Recognition for achieving a score of “98” on their first audit conducted by Silliker, Inc. covering both food safety and GMP requirements.  It is an impressive accomplishment for a new manufacturing operation and it reflects their commitment to delivering quality products to their customers.

  San Antonio, Texas – SimplyFresco’s goodwill is exemplified by their sponsorship of the Masupa Nzila Economic Development Group in Mongu, Zambia - Africa.  The Masupa Nzila Economic Development Group is a small, grassroots charitable and educational organization devoted to fighting racism and gender bias through information, education, and culture.  Recently, a SimplyFresco company Member went to Africa with her peer doctoral students as part of GWN’s V.E.N.D.O.R. initiative.  SimplyFresco's company founding Member, Tere Dresner, Ph.D. candidate, was able to assist with financial resources, workshops, and mentorship of micro-business creation and operation.

SimplyFresco opens first HHP facility dedicated to tomato-based sauces – November 2006
  San Antonio, Texas – The wait is over!  Great Taste and Long-Lasting Freshness come together in San Antonio.  Until now, consumers had to compromise when purchasing fresh salsa or fresh pasta sauce.  Previously, if the items were truly fresh and all-natural, like a homemade recipe, they spoiled quickly.  Or, if the items were fresh and lasted longer than a week, they were loaded with preservatives or additives.  SimplyFresco has made the compromise on quality a thing of the past.  At SimplyFresco, they are committed to delivering the best tasting, all-natural salsa and pasta sauce available in the retail market.  They have invested in technology that allows them to offer no less than 100 days of freshness from the date the product is manufactured.  The products are packaged in a stand-up-resealable-pouch that allows the High Pressure Processing to eliminate all bacteria and pathogens that can ruin the fresh recipe.  The result is a product that tastes fresher, has brighter colors, and has a crisper texture than alternatives that contain preservatives or are heat-processed.  SimplyFresco’s High Pressure Processing facility is one of approximately only 12 such facilities in the U.S. and it is the only one that is certified as a Minority Business Enterprise.
